Add shear stress calculation (based on HEC-15) to conduit data.

Conduit data has flow data but not shear force data which would help design the channel lining needed to protect from ditch/channel erosion. https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/engineering/hydraulics/pubs/05114/05114.pdf

Profile Symbology Setting

Currently OpenRail does not have the ability to assign profile symboligies for Turnouts with the Turnout Feature Definition.

Add ability to Target Alias and clip a Conical Slope

The conical slope feature is very useful for model detailing. We use these often at bridge abutments. It would be helpful if we could target alias these features and also clip them.

Clipping reference

It will be helpful to see where the clipping is coming from. Example if reference file then would be helpful to know what reference file

Add ability for Overlay/Stripping Top to follow the lowest between component and terrain.

We often need to provide volumes of additional excavation for substandard subgrade material to a certain depth. The easiest way to get this is through the Milling and Stripping functionality. You set the bottom of the component thickness and have ...

Expand Text Favorite Fields to the limit

Text Favorites are great. This is the primary way we transfer information from the model into intelligent annotations. Their functionality needs to be expanded to cover, quite literally, anything. If a property is discoverable anywhere in the desi...

Turnout in exportable file

It would be very useful to have a way of bringing geometry including turnouts between models i.e. as in the .alg files. Rather than having to use a dgn. With large alignment files, they are a lot more manageable/faster when split into smaller sect...

Feature Lines Similar to Civil 3D

It would be nice to be able to graphically change elevation and slope of an element similar to feature lines in Civil 3D. Made it really quick to create break lines and grade areas without have to go into a profile view and create a vertical profi...

Reverse direction of an existing complex element

A tool to reverse the direction of an existing complex element. There is a workaround by complexing the complex element but not an ideal solution.

Coupling between horizontal and vertical regrerssion lines

A very problematic area is the coupling between horizontal and vertical regression analysis. Generally speaking, one must create a horizontal regression line first, create regressed elements, couple them together in a complex geometry and then pro...
