Automatically calculate and display the inlet and outlet elevations at the inside wall of the node

We connect the pipe at the center of the node, and we are seeking functionality that allows the drainage properties to automatically calculate and display the inlet and outlet elevations at the inside wall of the node (see picture).

    When we design a conduit (storm sewer pipe) the pipe is placed from center of structure to center of structure with all corresponding invert elevations at the center of structure. The DOT uses a lot of circular precast drainage structures. attached is snapshot of the utility properties of a drainage structure with two pipes coming into the structure and one outgoing pipe. These elevations circled below are relatively simply to get into a text favorite for structure annotation. However, the problem is we need the elevation at the wall of the structure so the structures can be correctly fabricated and staked in the field.

    In the past we have developed spreadsheets (outside of ORD). Those spreadsheets for example would compute the elevation at the wall of the structure by

    elevation @ wall outgoing= outgoing invert - (1/2)(structure diameter)(outgoing pipe slope)

    elevation @ wall coduit1= elevation invert #1 + (1/2)(structure diameter)(conduit#1 slope)


    As you can probably relate, anytime you have spreadsheets outside of ORD there are chances ambiguity and plan errors. If we want profiles annotated at the “wall of structure elevations” we are placing that annotation manually (also problematic).

    To me the simple solution is to add fields within the utility properties that would do the above math. We could then use those computed wall elevations with text favorites and profile annotation.
