Retain Observations When Skipping Duplicate Points During Survey Import

During survey traverse workflows that span multiple days, users must import several raw data files into a single field book. Often, points established on a previous day are re-observed as backsights on subsequent days. Currently, the conflict resolution for duplicate points inadvertently deletes critical observation data.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a field book and import a raw survey data file (Day 1). Note that setup and backsight observations are correctly loaded.

  2. Import a second raw survey data file (Day 2) into the same field book. This file must contain backsight observations to points already established in the Day 1 import.

  3. The application will flag these as duplicate points and prompt the "Duplicate Point" dialog.

  4. Select the "Skip" action to avoid creating a redundant point.

  5. Open the Survey Details/Observations table and review the newly imported setups.

When the user selects "Skip", the software discards both the duplicate point creation and its associated observation data
