I would like to make a suggestion on an improvement to template design for 3D Modeling in ORD. The Rollover values tool in superelevation template design is incredibly helpful, as it saves time by calculating the proper shoulder super rates according to the travel lanes. It saves the effort of having to create shoulder superelevation sections/lanes/shapes which is great in the long run. However, I know that users would certainly benefit from having more than just 5 rows of options in the Rollover Point Properties window. For example, in Florida, the Florida Design Manual has extensive shoulder slope conditions (FDM Figure 210.4.2) which would require at least 7 rows to successfully program the correct shoulder rollover from -10% to +10% travel lane slopes. My recommendation would be to add several more rows to the tool, or at least add the option to include more for the user. Its easy enough to not use all the rows if necessary, but by only including 5 rows, I am unable to complete the total rollover progression. In the attachments, I detailed an example from Florida, where I am attempting to program the first half of a shoulder in a rollover condition but would not have enough rows to complete it.
